Marion County's employment is based in manufacturing, accounting for some 54% of total employment in such areas as manufactured housing, furniture, plastics, tapered roller bearings, conveyor systems, metal shelving, equipment, and reflective markings.  Many of the county's top employers have thrived here for several decades.

Health Care

Carraway Northwest Hospital and the Marion Baptist Medical Center, located in Winfield and Hamilton respectively, have brought state of the art health care to Marion County.  Carraway has recently finished an extensive expansion of its facilities and now offers a cancer center, while Marion Baptist Medical Center combines a top-notch hospital and an excellent nursing home.
